So you are looking into purchasing a high quality integrated washing machine but are not keen to look down the route of purchasing a Miele as the drum is too small, or perhaps it is because of the price. Well if that is the case you should consider Bosch or Neff integrated washing machines, they both have superb German quality and price wise are considerably cheaper than their German counter part.

Now we have to decide which is best, Bosch or Neff built in washing machines? So the differences between the Bosch and Neff integrated washing machines are very clear, and in fact there is only one main difference and that is, one is badged as a Bosch and the other is badged as a Neff! That said, this single difference between Bosch and Neff built in washing machines does not distract from them all being great appliances. There are two options for Bosch and Neff integrated washing machines, you can either go for a 1200 rpm spin speed or a 1400 rpm spin speed. The 1400 spin speeds come with a large LED display, they all come with AAB ratings for energy efficiency, spin speed and wash performance respectively. Miele W1724: This is from the modern look range of Miele washing machines. The Miele W1724 washing machine has been released in replacement of the W1613 and the W1614, though the Miele is a 1400 spin speed 6kg washing machine unlike the W1613 that is only a 1300 spin speed. The only real notable differences between the new Miele W1724 compared to the W1614 is that it has a delay start function and a 5 year warranty, other than these two points the Miele W1724 has the same specification, including  the quick wash function and an A+ energy efficiency rating.

Miele W3228: This could be considered the replacement for the popular Miele W3240. Now the W3228 is a 7kg washing machine with only a 1300 spin speed opposed to the Miele W3240 that is a 1400 spin speed 6kg washing machine, but it is considered that a slower spin speed with a larger drum is the optimal set up. Both these machines come with an A+ energy efficiency rating and a quick wash, now the Miele W3228 also has a delay start. It looks as though Miele have finally recognised that the delay start should come as standard these day. The Miele W3228 only comes with a 5 year warranty, where as the Miele W3240 has a 10 year warranty.

Miele have unveiled that they will no longer continue to sell the W5740 or the W5824, both of which are fantastic machines. Their replacement comes in the form of the Miele W5780. So to tell you more about the W5780 is pretty easy as it take most of the features of the W5740, with the additional extra of the delay start that comes with the W5824. If you are unaware of the features of the W5740, then I can take you through them. The W5740's features of 1400 spin speed, 7kg honeycomb drum, softronic controls, 12 special programmes and 4 additional programmes can all be found with the Miele W5780, with the added extra of delay start, which amazingly never came with the W5740.

The with disappearance of the W5740 and the Miele W5824 and the emergence of the Miele's W5780 means that there will also be a disappearance of the 10 year warranty that made both these best sellers for Miele. I believe that this may be a fundamental downfall in the Miele W5780, but nonetheless the W5780 is pretty much the same machine as the W5740 with a delay start, so if Miele have the confidence in putting a ten year warranty on the W5740 then I am certain that there will be few issues in the Miele W5780. With that said Miele will be putting a 5 year parts and labour warranty on the Miele W5780, giving it a pretty good warranty period compared to many manufactures.

Just to add one more point, the Miele W5780 will not be available until mid March, so if you are still keen on getting yourself a Miele W5824 or W5740 look up your Miele dealership before stock has been exhausted. I found the best buy Miele W5824 with our friends at Premier Electrics at only £959.
